Major Features: - TDR, Volt Meter and Tone Generator in one product - Measures distance to shorts/opens up to 2500 feet - Over 60 pre-stored standard and four user defined NVP values for accurate length measurements - Measures and displays voltages up to 250 Volts rms - Transmits a tone onto the line for cable tracing - Standard banana jack connectors are compatible with a wide range of leads or connectors for testing any cable type The CableTool Multifunction TDR is a handheld tester used for installing and maintaining metallic cabling. The CableTool uses TDR technology to quickly determine the distance to a cable fault (open or short) in feet or meters. The unit has over 60 pre-stored standard cable NVP values and allows the user to define and store up to four custom NVP (the same as the Jovial "VOP") values. The CableTool also features an NVP learn mode when used with a known length of cable. The NVP can then be stored eliminating the need to recalibrate each time the unit is turned on. The CableTool provides a voltage measurement capability up to 250 Vrms. Displayed voltages warn the user of potentially unsafe test conditions and can be used to identify the type of circuit under test. Additionally, the CableTool includes a tone generator function with selectable tones that allows cable tracing with most tone probes. The CableTool also allows measurements to be shown in either feet or meters. The CableTool uses standard digital multimeter connections for connecting to cables. This system allows an extremely broad range of off-the-shelf adapters to be used with the CableTool. Alligator clips, an F adapter, and a BNC adapter are included. |
